Jamaica has more endemics (31) than any other island in the Caribbean and is an excellent birding location. In all, we have around 300 species that have been recorded here including winter visitors, transients and vagrants.
These migrants can start to arrive in August and will remain here until April/May. For birders from North America, winter is a good opportunity to see migrant species that do not occur in their home territory; whilst for visitors from Europe, the winter season is an ideal time to visit and to catch the mainly North American influx of warblers, wetlands and shore birds.
Many of the species that come to Jamaica at this time add to our own resident populations. In spring, we have a small number of species that migrate or come onshore to breed here: Gray Kingbird. Black-whiskered Vireo, Caribbean Martin, Antillean Night Hawk, Least Tern, White-tailed Tropic Bird.

6-Day Cross Island
Our best-selling six-day tour takes you coast-to-coast from the more well known Ecclestown Road, John Crow and Blue Mountains, into the hidden-gems found in off-the-beaten-path forests and countryside viewing locations.
Our 6-day tour starts at $2200 USD per person, and includes double-occupancy lodging, all transportation and snacks, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
2-Day Extension
Want even more birding time? Extend your six-day tour to eight full days of birding, to include endemics in and near Portland and the Black River.

Add two days for just $330 per person, which includes double-occupancy lodging, all transportation and meals.
South Coast Day Tour
Perfect for the first-time birder or those with limited time, you'll enjoy our one-day tour through the hills and forests of lovely, coastal Bluefields, where we've seen 22 of the 31 endemic species.
South Coast day tours start at $105 USD per person, and include refreshments during the tour and a seaside lunch, with an option to add transportation at $170 US to and from your hotel.
